Q: How much does a Desktop Anywhere subscription cost?
A: The cost of a subscription depends on the number of users and the degree of personalisation of the platform. Most of our customers have costs that are lower or equal to those of a physical in-house infrastructure. In addition, the expense is spread out naturally over time and no investment is needed. To request a quotation or demonstration, please fill out our
contact form on-line or send an e-mail to
sales desktopanywhere eu.
Q: Are there any hidden costs?
A: No. Any computer that is less than 7 years old can connect to Desktop Anywhere. Therefore it is not necessary to replace your computers to benefit from the advantages of Desktop Anywhere. Another saving that is by no means insignificant.
If your PC breaks down, is stolen or destroyed, all you have to do is reconnect to your virtual office from any other workstation. You are immediately operational. The choice of computer therefore doesn't matter. Low-cost thin clients or the very latest Mac, all of these will connect in the blink of an eye to Desktop Anywhere.
Q: Can I use my personal programs in my virtual office?
A: Yes. As long as you have a licence, usage right and/or legitimate property rights according to the envisaged use.
We are used to integrating and supporting the latest programs on the market (accounting programs, home banking, etc.). This is one of the numerous advantages of Desktop Anywhere in comparison to purely web applications.
Q: Can I use my own printer?
A: Yes, you can print remotely stored documents on a local printer.
Q: Is there a customer support service?
A: Yes. A support service is available to customers through support tickets included in the chosen contract. The most important thing is to determine the type of subscription which best meets the needs of your company. Please do not hesitate to contact one of our staff to help you make the right choice.
Q: Is it possible to get support outside office hours?
A: Yes. Desktop Anywhere customers can benefit from support outside office hours. For more information, please complete our
form on-line or send us an e-mail to
sales desktopanywhere eu.
Q: How many users are needed for your solution to be worthwhile? Is it not more?
A: Relevancy is not just connected to the number of users, but also the type of infrastructure and requirements in terms of mobility. For more information, please contact us using our
on-line form or by e-mail (
sales desktopanywhere eu).
Q: What is the difference between Desktop Anywhere and Google Apps?
A: Google Apps is a relatively elementary and purely web-based application. It does not allow you to use your specific software in any way, or even your own developments in Excel, Access, etc.
Q: Can I also migrate my telephone and fax lines into my Desktop Anywhere?
A: At the moment, it is not yet possible to integrate your telephone and fax lines into the Desktop Anywhere platform. However, plans to do this are currently under review. If you are interested by this type of option, please do not hesitate to let us know using the
on-line form or by mail (
sales desktopanywhere eu). We will make sure that you are kept informed as to the progress of this plan.
Q: Is Desktop Anywhere compatible with Apple Mac?
A: Yes, Desktop Anywhere is compatible with Apple products. Whether you use a MacBook, iPad or iPhone, you can access your virtual office with no problems.
Q: I use a Mac but I can't run Windows applications on it. Can Desktop Anywhere solve my problem?
A: Of course! Desktop Anywhere widens the horizon for Mac users. Thanks to your virtual office, you can use Windows applications (accounting programs, for example) whilst working on your Mac. And a small plus: if you use an iPhone or an iPad, you have your Windows applications to work with at your fingertips… To request a quotation or demonstration, please complete our on-line
contact form or send an e-mail to
sales desktopanywhere eu.
Q: What happens if the Internet is down or there is a power cut? Are my unsaved documents lost?
A: If there is a loss in Internet connection or a power cut in your company, your connection to Desktop Anywhere will be interrupted but your unsaved documents will not be lost! Whilst waiting for the Internet or the electricity to be restored, you can reconnect to your virtual office from another access point or by using a mobile Internet connection (3G, UMTS, etc.) and you will find your documents intact, even if they hadn't been saved yet! In fact, you will find your office just as you left it.
Q: What happens if I'm not satisfied with the Desktop Anywhere solution?
A: You have 30 days from the installation of your Desktop Anywhere to change your mind. If you are not satisfied with the solution, all your data will be restored to you. See the contract terms and conditions for more information.
Q: Do I still own my data once they are integrated into my Desktop Anywhere?
A: Yes, Desktop Anywhere customers still completely own their data. This is defined by contract.
Q: I am subject to professional secrecy in my profession. What guarantees does Desktop Anywhere offer me?
A: Specific contracts and solutions have been provided for occupations that are subject to professional secrecy. Therefore doctors, lawyers, company auditors and accountants can all use Desktop Anywhere in their daily tasks, in complete security and following the rules imposed by the Association or the Bar on which they depend.

A: No, not in the standard packages. For special cases, please contact one of our staff members using our
on-line form or by mail (
sales desktopanywhere eu).
Q: Can you install my Microsoft Office licences in my virtual office?
A: No. The principle of the "virtual office" is subject to very strict rules in terms of use and management of licences. All our packages follow licence rental rules. Therefore, you are sure to be working with the latest version of Microsoft Office completely legally.
Q: Can I synchronise my PDA with Desktop Anywhere?
A: Yes.
Q: Can I change my login & passwords myself?
A: That depends on the configuration requested by your company.
Q: Can I buy the licences which I'm renting in my virtual office?
A: No, these licences are subject to the usage and management rules governing rented licences. They are not transferable and you do not own them.
Q: Are my data, favourites, e-mails etc. imported into my virtual office?
A: Yes. Unlike certain web applications, Desktop Anywhere's virtual office is not limited to blank storage space. We import your data, your e-mails, your contacts, your applications* and even your favourites! We also recover your accounting and bank applications, electronic signatures, etc. You continue to use your card readers and you do not lose the use of the existing mail server.
*applications: any software for which the Customer states and guarantees possession of a licence, usage right and/or legitimate property rights according to its envisaged use, for the period that the Desktop Anywhere contract is valid.
Q: Is the speed of use of the virtual office lower than it would be for my local installation?
A: Our servers are very powerful and can be accessed via very fast Internet connections. If you also have a good Internet connection, the speed of use may even be greater than that obtained with a local server.
